How is TG EAPCET different from AP EAPCET?
Structurally they are almost identical — two streams, 160 questions, three hours, no negative marking, and an engineering paper dominated by mathematics. What differs is everything administrative: separate conducting bodies, separate papers on separate dates, separate counselling processes, separate institution lists, and separate local candidate rules governing seat eligibility. Candidates from the region often sit both, which is straightforward given the syllabus overlap, but the admission processes are entirely distinct.
Why is mathematics so heavily weighted in TG EAPCET?
The engineering paper allocates eighty of its hundred and sixty questions to mathematics — exactly half. That is far more than the equal weighting national entrances such as JEE Main use, and it means a candidate cannot compensate for weak mathematics through physics and chemistry, since those together account for only the other half. Study time should be allocated roughly in proportion, with close to half going to mathematics.
What is local candidate status in TG EAPCET counselling?
Telangana applies local and non-local candidate rules based on where the candidate studied, and these determine which seats you are eligible for in the state counselling process. The rules and required documentation are set by the state, differ from those in Andhra Pradesh, and are worth confirming and preparing for well before counselling begins rather than during it — it is a documentation matter rather than a preparation one, but it affects outcomes just as directly.
When is TG EAPCET 2027?
Not yet notified. TG EAPCET 2026 applications opened on 19 February 2026 with the last date on 4 April, the engineering examinations on 9–11 May and rank cards on 17 May; the 2027 cycle is expected on the same calendar, with the notification on eapcet.tgche.ac.in in February 2027.
What was the TG EAPCET 2026 result?
JNTUH released the rank cards for both streams on 17 May 2026: 2,18,998 of the 2,82,195 who appeared qualified (77.25 per cent) — 72.28 per cent in engineering and 87.6 per cent in agriculture and pharmacy. Rank cards are downloaded from the portal with the hall-ticket number and date of birth.
What is the TG EAPCET exam pattern?
For engineering, 160 multiple-choice questions in three hours on a computer — Mathematics 80, Physics 40 and Chemistry 40 — one mark each with no negative marking. Each session has its own paper and marks are normalised; the qualifying line is 25 per cent (40 marks; none for SC and ST) and the rank is drawn from the normalised marks alone.
What marks give what rank in TG EAPCET?
JNTUH’s own sheet for 2025 puts 80 or more normalised marks below rank 2,613 in engineering, 75 or more at 2,614–3,995, 70 at 3,996–6,104, 65 at 6,105–9,226, 60 at 9,227–14,418, 55 at 14,419–24,028, 50 at 24,029–44,121, 45 at 44,122–82,343 and 40 at 82,344–1,35,462. The 2024 bands were about a thousand ranks lower at each mark.
Who is eligible for TG EAPCET?
Indian nationals, PIOs and OCIs who belong to Telangana under the local/non-local rules, who have passed or are appearing in intermediate with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (or Biotechnology or Biology, or an engineering diploma) with 45 per cent in the group subjects (40 for reserved categories), and who are 16 by 31 December of the admission year; no upper age limit for engineering and pharmacy.
What is the TG EAPCET fee?
₹900 per stream for general candidates and ₹500 for SC, ST and PH; ₹1,800 and ₹1,000 for both streams; paid at TG Online centres or online. Late fees run ₹250, ₹500, ₹2,500, ₹5,000 and ₹10,000 at the successive deadlines, and the three highest late-fee registrants are allotted centres in Hyderabad West.
Do intermediate marks count in TG EAPCET?
No — the 2026 notification ranks candidates purely on the normalised test marks, unlike AP EAPCET, which still weights the intermediate group marks at 25 per cent. The intermediate pass with the required subjects and percentage remains an eligibility condition.
When were the TS EAMCET / TG EAPCET results 2026 declared?
TGCHE released the TG EAPCET 2026 rank cards on 17 May 2026 on eapcet.tgche.ac.in, six days after the last engineering session of 9–11 May; the preliminary key and response sheets had gone up on 11–14 May. Of 2,82,195 candidates who appeared across both streams, 2,18,998 qualified (77.25 per cent) — 72.28 per cent in engineering and 87.6 per cent in agriculture and pharmacy. The rank card is downloaded with the registration number and hall-ticket number, and the rank rests on the normalised EAPCET marks alone.
What are the TG EAPCET counselling dates 2026?
Engineering counselling followed the 17 May result on the TGCHE counselling portal in phases — online registration and fee, slot booking for certificate verification, web options, mock allotment, and seat allotment — through June and July 2026, with a final phase for vacant seats afterwards. The phase dates are notified on eapcet.tgche.ac.in for each cycle; the 2027 counselling will follow the 2027 result, which on the 2026 calendar means late May 2027.
Is TS EAMCET the same as TG EAPCET?
Yes. Telangana’s common entrance test was TS EAMCET until 2021, TS EAPCET from 2022 when medical admissions moved fully to NEET, and TG EAPCET from 2024 when the state changed its official abbreviation from TS to TG. The conducting body, the two streams, the 160-question pattern and the counselling process are unchanged, and searches for TS EAMCET 2026, TS EAPCET 2026 and TG EAPCET 2026 refer to the same examination.
Are there free TG EAPCET mock tests?
Yes. The free TG EAPCET mock tests here follow the 2026 pattern — 160 questions with the 80/40/40 split in three hours and no deduction — and report the score by subject against the JNTUH marks-versus-rank bands.
