AP EAMCET 2026 Results, Rank and Counselling; AP EAPCET 2027 Exam Date, Exam Pattern, Syllabus, Eligibility and Free AP EAPCET Mock Tests

AP EAPCET — still searched far more often as AP EAMCET, the name it carried until 2021 — is the common entrance test for engineering, agriculture and pharmacy admissions in Andhra Pradesh. It runs in two streams — an engineering stream weighted heavily towards mathematics, and an agriculture and medical stream covering biology alongside the physical sciences.

Two things distinguish it from national entrances and both matter for planning. There is no negative marking, so nothing should be left blank. And admission depends not only on the test but on local candidate status under the state’s reservation rules, which is a matter of documentation rather than preparation.

The result came a month later than the booklet’s tentative date, so the counselling calendar compressed into July and August. The pattern, the 75:25 weightage, the fee and the qualifying line were unchanged from 2025; the 2027 notification should follow the February–May shape.

Overview

What AP EAPCET is, and who it suits

AP EAPCET is used for admission to engineering, agriculture, pharmacy and allied professional courses in Andhra Pradesh institutions. Candidates apply in one of two streams according to their intermediate subject combination, and admission is made through the state counselling process on rank.

The engineering stream paper is distinctive for its mathematics weighting — eighty of the hundred and sixty questions, exactly half the paper. That is a far heavier concentration than JEE Main or any of the private entrances apply, and it means a candidate’s mathematics ability shapes their rank more than anything else.

The two streams

  • Engineering stream — mathematics (80), physics (40) and chemistry (40) — 160 questions in three hours.
  • Agriculture and Pharmacy stream — botany (40), zoology (40), physics (40) and chemistry (40) — 160 questions in three hours.
  • No negative marking in either — so every question should be answered.
  • Syllabus — based on the Andhra Pradesh intermediate curriculum, which differs in places from the CBSE syllabus national exams follow.

Local candidate status affects seat eligibility

Admission through state counselling applies local and non-local candidate rules based on where the candidate studied. This is a documentation matter rather than a preparation one, but it affects which seats you are eligible for, and the requirements should be checked well before counselling rather than during it.

Eligibility

Who can apply for AP EAPCET

AP EAPCET eligibility for the engineering stream, from section 2 of the 2026 instruction booklet. Admission eligibility is checked again at counselling under the government orders in force.

Who may appear — engineering stream.
ConditionRule
Nationality and stateIndian nationals, PIOs and OCIs who belong to Andhra Pradesh under the local/non-local rules of the presidential order (G.O. Ms. No. 20 of 12 May 2025)
Qualifying examinationIntermediate (10+2) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (or Biotechnology or Biology with the bridge course) from the AP board or an equivalent, or a diploma in engineering from the State Board of Technical Education; final-year candidates may appear
MarksAt least 45 per cent in the group subjects taken together; 40 per cent for reserved categories
Age16 years completed by 31 December of the admission year for engineering and pharmacy; no upper age limit; the agriculture-stream courses carry their own age conditions in the booklet
Qualifying marks in the test25 per cent of the maximum — 40 of 160; no minimum for SC and ST, whose admission is limited to the reserved seats

Also from the booklet

  • Both streams — a candidate with MPC or BiPC may apply for both engineering and agriculture-pharmacy with the “Both” option so that one centre is allotted.
  • Bridge course — BiPC candidates need the intermediate board’s bridge course in Mathematics for B.Tech. Biotechnology.
  • Reservations — SC sub-classification (G.O. 7 of 18 April 2025), NCC, sports, scouts and PwD provisions apply at counselling under the linked orders.

Selection process

How AP EAPCET selection works

Each stage in order, and what it actually tests.

Stages change between cycles. Confirm the structure in the notification for the cycle you are sitting.
StageFormatWhat it involves
The computer-based test160 questions, 3 hours, morning or afternoon session over several daysEngineering stream: Mathematics 80, Physics 40, Chemistry 40, one mark each, no deduction. Sessions on different days carry different papers, so marks are normalised with the formula in the booklet before ranking.
Preliminary key, objections and resultKey and response sheets online; objections at ₹300 a question, refundable if upheldIn 2026 the preliminary key came on 23 May with objections to 25 May; the result and rank cards followed on 1 July, a month after the booklet’s tentative 1 June.
Rank and counsellingRank on 75 per cent EAPCET plus 25 per cent intermediate marks; AP EAPCET counselling by APSCHECandidates above the 25 per cent qualifying line (and all SC and ST candidates) are ranked with the intermediate group marks weighted 25 per cent. Web counselling with certificate verification, option entry and allotment rounds follows for the university and private colleges, with local status under the 2025 presidential-order rules deciding seat eligibility.

Application to counselling

How AP EAPCET runs, from the February form to the May test, the normalised rank and web counselling

The steps follow the AP EAPCET 2026 instruction booklet and the APSCHE portal.

The AP EAPCET process

  1. Pay the fee and fill the form on cets.apsche.ap.gov.in Registration fee first — ₹800 (open), ₹750 (BC), ₹700 (SC, ST) per stream, online or at AP Online centres — then the form with the Aadhaar, intermediate hall-ticket number, category, local area, stream and test-zone preferences, and the photograph and signature. Late fees from ₹1,000 to ₹10,000 apply after 24 March. Print the filled-in form.
  2. Corrections and hall ticket A three-day correction window in April for the fields allowed; hall tickets about two weeks before the examination on the portal and by WhatsApp.
  3. The test Three hours on a computer in the allotted session; a mock test on the portal shows the interface. No negative marking, so every question is attempted.
  4. Preliminary key, response sheet and objections Both are downloadable within days of the last session; objections cost ₹300 a question, refunded if upheld; the final key follows.
  5. Result, normalisation and rank Session marks are normalised with the booklet’s formula; the rank combines 75 per cent EAPCET marks and 25 per cent intermediate group marks; rank cards are downloaded from the portal.
  6. Counselling On the APSCHE counselling portal: registration and processing fee, certificate verification (online or at help-line centres), web options for colleges and branches, allotment, self-reporting and reporting at the college; later phases fill vacancies and sliding.

Why the intermediate marks matter

A quarter of the rank comes from the class-12 group subjects, so two candidates with the same EAPCET mark can be thousands of ranks apart. Telangana no longer uses it — the 2026 TG EAPCET notification ranks purely on normalised marks — while Andhra Pradesh keeps it, which is the main difference between the two tests.

Study plan

How to prepare for AP EAPCET

AP EAPCET is the intermediate syllabus at a minute a question with no penalty: Mathematics is half the paper and the tie-breaker, and the intermediate marks carry a quarter of the rank, so the board examination in March is part of the preparation. Most candidates prepare it with JEE Main and switch to EAPCET speed practice after the board examinations.

Plan for AP EAPCET 2027.
PhaseWorkOutput
Class 11 and 12The intermediate syllabus chapter by chapter with the board textbooks, aiming at high group-subject marks for the 25 per cent weightageFormula and reaction sheets

April – MayPrevious EAPCET papers (2026, 2025, 2024) as 160-question, three-hour mocks; Mathematics speed to 80 questions in 85–90 minutesEvery question attempted

What top-ranked candidates do

  • They give Mathematics the minutes — half the paper and the first tie-breaker.
  • They attempt all 160 — no deduction, so a blank is the only way to lose a mark.
  • They protect the intermediate marks — a quarter of the rank is decided in March.
  • They read the previous cut-off ranks — the college and branch closing ranks on the counselling portal fix the target.

Questions

AP EAPCET — FAQs

Why does mathematics matter so much in AP EAPCET?

Because it is eighty of the hundred and sixty questions in the engineering stream — exactly half the paper. That is a far heavier concentration than JEE Main or the private entrances apply, where the three subjects are equally weighted. The practical consequence is that a candidate with weak mathematics cannot compensate through physics and chemistry, since those together account for only half the marks, and study time should be allocated roughly in proportion.

Can I prepare for AP EAPCET alongside JEE Main?

Yes, and the content overlaps substantially. Two adjustments are needed. First, the weighting: mathematics is half the AP EAPCET engineering paper against a third of JEE Main, so your practice proportions should differ. Second, the source material: AP EAPCET follows the state intermediate curriculum, which frames some topics differently and includes material presented differently from the CBSE syllabus, so working from the state textbooks alongside your JEE material closes that gap.

When is AP EAPCET 2027?

Not yet notified. AP EAPCET 2026 was notified on 4 February 2026 with applications to 24 March, engineering examinations from 12 to 18 May and the result on 1 July; the 2027 cycle is expected on the same calendar, with the notification on cets.apsche.ap.gov.in in February 2027.

What was the AP EAPCET 2026 result?

Declared on 1 July 2026: in the engineering stream 1,82,317 of the 2,58,545 who appeared qualified (70.52 per cent; 71.65 per cent among women), and in agriculture and pharmacy 63,546 of 70,929 (89.59 per cent). Jonnala Roshan Manideep Reddy took engineering rank 1 and Sambangi Jaswanth Naidu the agriculture and pharmacy rank 1.

What is the AP EAPCET exam pattern?

For engineering, 160 multiple-choice questions in three hours on a computer — Mathematics 80, Physics 40 and Chemistry 40 — one mark each with no negative marking. Session marks are normalised, the qualifying line is 25 per cent (40 marks; none for SC and ST), and the rank gives 75 per cent weightage to the EAPCET marks and 25 per cent to the intermediate group-subject marks.

Who is eligible for AP EAPCET?

Indian nationals, PIOs and OCIs who belong to Andhra Pradesh under the local/non-local rules, who have passed or are appearing in intermediate with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (or an engineering diploma) with 45 per cent in the group subjects (40 for reserved categories), and who are 16 by 31 December of the admission year; there is no upper age limit for engineering and pharmacy.

What is the AP EAPCET fee?

₹800 for open-category candidates, ₹750 for BC and ₹700 for SC and ST candidates per stream, paid online or at AP Online centres, with late fees of ₹1,000, ₹2,000, ₹4,000 and ₹10,000 at the successive deadlines. An objection to the preliminary key costs ₹300 a question, refunded if upheld.

Do intermediate marks count in the AP EAPCET rank?

Yes — 25 per cent of the rank comes from the marks in the intermediate group subjects and 75 per cent from the normalised EAPCET marks, which is why candidates with the same test score can hold very different ranks. Telangana’s TG EAPCET no longer uses intermediate weightage.

Is there negative marking in AP EAPCET?

No. Each correct answer earns one mark and a wrong or blank answer earns nothing, so all 160 questions should be attempted.

When were the AP EAMCET results 2026 declared, and how do I check them?

APSCHE declared the AP EAPCET 2026 (AP EAMCET) results on 1 July 2026 on cets.apsche.ap.gov.in, where the rank card is downloaded with the registration number and hall-ticket number. In engineering 1,82,317 of 2,58,545 candidates qualified (70.52 per cent) and in agriculture and pharmacy 63,546 of 70,929 (89.59 per cent). The rank combines 75 per cent of the normalised EAPCET marks with 25 per cent of the intermediate group-subject marks.

What are the AP EAMCET counselling dates 2026?

Counselling for the engineering stream followed the 1 July result on the APSCHE counselling portal: registration and fee payment, certificate verification at help-line centres, web options, and seat allotment in phases through July and August 2026, with a final phase for the seats left after reporting. Agriculture and pharmacy counselling runs separately. The phase-wise schedule is published on cets.apsche.ap.gov.in and changes between years, so the counselling notice, not the previous year’s dates, is the reference.

Is AP EAMCET the same as AP EAPCET?

Yes. The examination was renamed from EAMCET (Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test) to EAPCET (Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test) in 2021 when medical admissions moved fully to NEET; the conducting body, the two streams, the 160-question pattern and the counselling process are the same, and searches for AP EAMCET 2026 and AP EAPCET 2026 refer to the same test.

Are there free AP EAPCET mock tests?

Yes. The free AP EAPCET mock tests here follow the 2026 pattern — 160 questions with the 80/40/40 split in three hours and no deduction — and report the score by subject against the 40-mark qualifying line and the previous years’ rank bands.
