BPSC Specialist Recruitment

Beyond the Combined Competitive Examination and the teacher and engineer rounds, the Bihar Public Service Commission recruits post by post for the departments that requisition it — prosecution officers, auditors, statistical officers, lecturers and professors, inspectors of factories and boilers, town planners, sports officers and the judicial service. Each recruitment follows its own cadre rules: three stages of preliminary, mains and interview for the gazetted competitive posts; a written examination and interview for most technical and academic posts; a preliminary and mains without interview for the clerical grades; and an interview alone, on qualifications, for the medical and professorial cadres.

The commission publishes one document that holds the whole programme: an examination calendar, revised through the year and marked tentative, that lists every pending recruitment with its advertisement number, posts, dates and status. The edition of 14 August 2026 runs to fifty rows. It shows a prosecution officer round of 300 posts examined on 15 July with its result due in September, an auditor round of 102 and a research officer round of 3 examined in July with results due in August, a project manager round of 9 examined on 4 October, the 33rd judicial services round of 173 stayed by the Supreme Court, 1,711 assistant professor posts in the medical colleges awaiting the department’s direction, and several rounds held up by insufficient applications or correspondence over the number of stages.

How to read the commission’s calendar

The calendar states that all dates are tentative and marks undetermined ones “TBD”. It groups rounds by the number of stages, gives the advertisement number and the posts, and carries the status in the remarks — “published”, “stay orders”, “document verification in progress”, “insufficient applications”, “postponed by department”, “correspondence with the department for two-stage exam”. It is revised several times a year; the edition of 14 August 2026 superseded one of April. The commission’s advertisement feed carries each round’s advertisement and notices as PDFs, and its question booklet and syllabus pages hold the papers by post.
