Pattern

JEE Advanced — JEE Advanced exam pattern: two papers, 360 marks, marking schemes and rank-list minimums

JEE Advanced is two compulsory three-hour computer-based papers on one Sunday, each with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics sections, 180 marks a paper and 360 in all, with question types and marking schemes that vary by section and are printed in the paper.

Question types	Single correct; multiple correct with partial marks; numerical value; matching and paragraph types in some years
Marking	Full, partial, zero and negative marks as printed; dropped questions earn full marks for all
Compensatory time	One hour per paper for eligible PwD candidates

1,79,694 appeared in both papers and 56,880 qualified; the topper scored 330, the tenth-ranked 311 and the top woman 280 — against a CRL entry of 92.
