Pattern

JEE Main — JEE Main exam pattern: 75 questions, 300 marks, marking, percentile scoring and cut-offs

JEE Main Paper 1 is a three-hour computer-based test of 75 compulsory questions for 300 marks — 20 multiple-choice and 5 numerical-value questions in each of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry — with +4 for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong one in both sections.

Why 2026 had 19 shifts

Ten shifts in January and nine in April, each with its own paper; percentile scoring is what makes the shifts comparable, and it is why the All India Rank is computed only after Session 2.
