- Mathematics
- Matrices and their applications, trigonometry and complex numbers, analytical geometry of two dimensions, vector algebra, analytical geometry of three dimensions, differential calculus, integral calculus and its applications, differential equations, probability distributions, and discrete mathematics.
- Biology (alternative to mathematics)
- Taxonomy, cell and molecular biology, reproduction, genetics and evolution, human health and diseases, biochemistry, plant physiology, human physiology, biotechnology and its applications, biodiversity and ecology and environment.
- Aptitude
- Data interpretation covering graphs and charts, data sufficiency, syllogism, number series, coding and decoding, and directional sense. Ten questions requiring no preparation beyond basic familiarity.
- English
- Comprehension of short passages or lines of dialogue, along with questions on grammar and pronunciation. Five questions.
One point of difference from JEE Main worth noting: the mathematics syllabus includes discrete mathematics, and physics gives more explicit weight to semiconductor devices. Neither is large, but both are easy to miss if you assume the syllabi are identical.
The biology option is worth noting for candidates applying to biotechnology and allied programmes: it replaces mathematics rather than supplementing it, and it covers a conventional class 11 and 12 biology syllabus. Candidates who have prepared for NEET will find it familiar, and the rest of the paper — physics, chemistry, aptitude and English — is unchanged.
