Pattern

NEET UG — NEET UG exam pattern: 180 questions, 720 marks, marking, tie-break and cut-offs

NEET UG is one pen-and-paper shift of three hours: 180 compulsory multiple-choice questions for 720 marks across Physics, Chemistry and Biology, marked +4 for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong one.

Why there are no optional questions

The 2021–2023 papers offered 200 questions with 20 optional; the NMC’s letter of 5 December 2025 confirmed the 180-compulsory-question, three-hour, pen-and-paper format for 2026 “as was conducted in 2025”, and the 2026 re-examination followed it.
