OET — Using mock tests as a measurement

A routine

  1. Fix the grade and the sitting rule Most regulators want B in every sub-test; some accept C+ in writing or two sittings within a period. Write the rule down before the first mock.
  2. Sit listening and reading back to back About 100 minutes with the audio played once and the reading split into its 15 and 45-minute blocks.
  3. Write the letter in 45 with a five-minute reading limit Then score it against the six criteria, or have it scored by someone who knows them.
  4. Role-play with a partner and record it Three minutes to prepare, five to play; listen back for the clinical-communication criteria as well as the language.
  5. Book the mode your regulator accepts Computer and at-home results come in days; paper in India from five days.
