TOEFL — Using mock tests as a measurement

A routine

  1. Take one official practice test before preparing The 1–6 estimate by section shows which of the four needs the time; the sections are short enough that a weak one can move quickly.
  2. Rehearse the microphone tasks Listen and Repeat and Take an Interview are recorded against a clock; practise speaking immediately and steadily.
  3. Time the writing About 23 minutes covers Build a Sentence, an email and the discussion post; the post should get most of it.
  4. Convert the requirement, not the score If a university still quotes 0–120, use ETS’s table to see which band it corresponds to and aim for the band.
  5. Book when the estimate meets every section minimum Many institutions set section floors as well as an overall; MyBest can combine attempts if the admissions page allows it.
