Karnataka Police — How to prepare

From notification to select list

  1. Watch two sites Notifications appear on ksp-recruitment.in and the KSP recruitment page; the written examination, keys and marks lists are on KEA’s site. Ignore ksp-online.in, which no longer belongs to the police.
  2. Choose the cadre and the unit Civil, armed, KSRP, KSISF and IRB are notified separately, and a Kalyana Karnataka candidate applies to one unit or battalion per notification. A local person who takes a residual post forfeits the 371J benefits for good.
  3. Settle the Kannada question early If you did not study Kannada at SSLC or above, the separate 150-mark test comes before the written paper — it was held on 22 August 2026 for a 20 September paper.
  4. Prepare the paper and the body together The physical tests follow the paper for one candidate in five, within weeks. Height and chest cannot be trained in a month; the run can.
  5. Keep the documents ready Category, Kalyana Karnataka and in-service certificates are verified after the medical examination; a missing one at that stage is a lost place.

Confirm the structure against your own notification

KPSC and the state’s other recruiting bodies revise paper structure, marks, syllabus detail and eligibility between recruitment cycles, and have done so more than once in recent years. Everything here describes the shape the recruitment has held; the notification for the cycle you are sitting is the document that decides it. Read it end to end before you plan around any figure.
