Maharashtra Departmental Examinations — How to prepare

From joining to confirmation

  1. Get the department’s examination rules on the first day They name the papers, the books allowed and the timetable; the 2021 policy sets the chances and the pass mark.
  2. Count the chances Three from joining, and every examination after the first application date counts — sat or not. Probationers must pass within probation.
  3. Aim at 60 in the strongest paper Where the rules allow, a head passed at 60 per cent is exempted on application, and five per cent is condoned in one head.
  4. Know the consequence The increment stops after three failures; a gazetted direct recruit or Group C probationer who fails within probation is liable to discharge.
  5. For LDCE, watch the commission Advertisements by post with service and age conditions, a scheme on the scheme page, and lists on the results pages.

Confirm the structure against your own notification

MPSC and the state’s other recruiting bodies revise schemes, ratios and dates between cycles, and the advertisement for your cycle is the document that binds. The figures here are from the latest documents on the official sites at the date checked and are labelled where they come from an older cycle.
