Maharashtra Police — How to prepare

From advertisement to appointment

  1. Watch for the next portal Each cycle has its own MahaIT portal named for the year; the 2024-25 one is policerecruitment2025. The units were asked in June 2026 to report vacancies for the next cycle.
  2. Choose one unit per post A candidate applies for a post in one unit only; the ratio of posts to applicants differs greatly between Mumbai, Gadchiroli and a small district.
  3. Train for marks on the ground Fifty of 150; fifty per cent to be called, and the written test is only for one in ten by physical merit.
  4. Prepare the paper in Marathi The test is set in Marathi; a candidate without Marathi or Hindi at SSC must also pass the board’s language test after selection.
  5. Have the licence and certificates ready Drivers need a valid licence at application; constables have two years for the LMV licence and the computer certificate.

Confirm the structure against your own notification

MPSC and the state’s other recruiting bodies revise schemes, ratios and dates between cycles, and the advertisement for your cycle is the document that binds. The figures here are from the latest documents on the official sites at the date checked and are labelled where they come from an older cycle.
