MPSC Rajyaseva — What the syllabus covers

Prelims Paper I — general studies
History and geography of India and Maharashtra, polity and governance, economy and social development, environment, general science, and current events.
Prelims Paper II — CSAT
Comprehension, interpersonal and communication skills, logical reasoning, decision-making, general mental ability, basic numeracy and data interpretation, and Marathi and English comprehension. Qualifying at 33 per cent.
Mains Papers 1 and 2 — Marathi and English
Essay, comprehension, précis, usage and vocabulary; 300 marks each, qualifying at 25 per cent.
Mains Paper 3 — essay
Two sections of four topics; one essay from each; 250 marks.
Mains Papers 4 to 7 — general studies 1 to 4
History, geography and society; governance, Constitution and polity; economy, science and technology, environment and security; ethics, integrity and aptitude — with Maharashtra weighted throughout. Twenty questions a paper.
Mains Papers 8 and 9 — optional subject
One subject from the commission’s list, two papers of 250; the medium fixed by the subject.
