  • The clock starts as soon as you press Start and the paper submits itself at zero.
  • You can move between questions freely and change any answer before you submit.
  • Mark a question for review to come back to it — a marked question still counts as answered if you have chosen an option.
  • A wrong answer costs 0.33 marks, so leave a question blank when you have no idea.
  • Your score, the answer key and a full explanation for every question appear as soon as you submit.

How to learn from this RRB NTPC mock

Treat the RRB NTPC CBT 1 Mock Test as a measurement, not as a verdict. The useful output is a short correction plan built from the questions that cost marks or time.

  1. Reproduce real conditions. Use one uninterrupted 22-minute sitting, no notes and the same answer discipline you would use in the examination.
  2. Review correct guesses as well as wrong answers. A lucky mark is unresolved knowledge and should enter the correction list.
  3. Classify the cause of every loss. Mark it as an unknown concept, wrong method, misread question, calculation slip, poor selection or time pressure.
  4. Choose only three immediate corrections. Revise or drill the highest-frequency causes before attempting another full paper.
  5. Retest with a fresh paper. Allow enough practice time for the correction to work, then check whether the same error class has declined.

How to interpret this score

This is a shortened RRB NTPC practice paper, so compare accuracy, section balance and decision-making rather than treating the raw mark as a predicted official score. Cut-offs depend on the recruitment cycle, category, vacancies, paper difficulty and the authority’s scoring rules.

This exam

What this RRB NTPC set is measuring

The NTPC first stage is a computer-based test with a large general awareness component and no sectional timing, which makes it a very different allocation problem from a banking paper. This set keeps the subject mix and the marking rate.

What to take from the result

  • General awareness accuracy — it is the largest and fastest-scoring block in the paper. A candidate weak here is trying to make up the difference in mathematics, which costs far more minutes per mark.
  • Time spent in mathematics — the arithmetic is standard and the risk is not difficulty but over-investment. Watch how many minutes went in for how many marks out.
  • Reasoning speed — general intelligence questions in this paper are mostly quick and mechanical. Slow reasoning usually means the question forms are unfamiliar rather than hard.
  • Your wrong-to-blank ratio — there is a deduction for wrong answers, so an informed guess between two options is worth taking and a blind guess is not.

Normalisation and multiple shifts

Railway recruitment is conducted across many shifts, and scores are normalised to account for differences in difficulty between them. That means a raw mark on any practice paper — including this one — cannot be read as a position relative to other candidates. Use it to compare yourself against yourself over time, which is the only comparison it supports.
