LIC AAO — How to prepare

The candidate LIC AAO rewards has three habits: enough speed to attempt 25-plus of 35 in each prelims section, enough accuracy to hold the three-mark mains questions, and a notes file on insurance and the financial system that has been revised often enough to answer two-mark factual questions in under thirty seconds. The plan below builds them in that order.

A twelve-week LIC AAO preparation, assuming the August notice and October–November examinations of 2025 recur.
Phase	Weeks	What to do
Foundation	1–4	Reasoning and quantitative topics one at a time with 20-minute sectional tests; English reading daily; start the business newspaper habit.
Mains build	5–8	High-level puzzles, DI sets and caselets; insurance and financial-market notes from LIC, IRDAI and scheme sources; first descriptive pieces typed weekly.
Integration	9–10	Alternate full prelims and mains mocks; current-affairs digest for the six months before the exam; revise insurance notes twice a week.
Final fortnight	11–12	Two mocks a week on the exact timers; one descriptive set every other day; interview reading — LIC’s recent results, products and news — begins now, not after the mains.

Priorities, in order

Reasoning and DI at mains weight — the two 90-mark sections are 60 per cent of the ranking marks.
Insurance and financial awareness — the only section a banking preparation leaves uncovered, and worth 60 marks.
Attempting every question — free marks in a paper with no penalty.
The descriptive paper — a qualifying paper that fails candidates who never typed under time.
Interview preparation from week 11 — sixty marks that count in the final merit.

If the notice comes with three weeks to the closing date

that is what happened in 2025; a candidate who has been preparing on the IBPS PO pattern needs only to add the insurance section and the descriptive habit, which six weeks will do.
