When is the NIACL AO 2026 notification?
Not issued as of 16 September 2026. The last recruitment was advertised on 7 August 2025 for 550 Scale I officers, with Phase I on 14 September and Phase II on 29 October 2025, and its selection lists are now on the recruitment page. New India Assurance recruited officers in 2018, 2021, 2023 and 2025, so a two-year interval would point to a 2027 notice; the recruitment page at newindia.co.in is where it appears.
What is the NIACL AO exam pattern?
Phase I: 100 questions in 60 minutes — English 30, Reasoning 35, Quantitative Aptitude 35 — each section timed at 20 minutes and qualifying. Phase II for Generalists: four objective sections of 50 marks each (Reasoning, English, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude) timed at 40, 40, 30 and 40 minutes, then a 30-mark descriptive English test of letter and essay typed in 30 minutes. Specialists sit five sections of 40 including a technical paper. A quarter mark is deducted per wrong answer in both objective phases; then an interview.
What is the eligibility for NIACL AO?
A graduate or post-graduate degree with at least 60 per cent marks (55 per cent for SC, ST and PwBD), computed on the aggregate of all subjects, from a recognised university, with the result declared by the cut-off date — 1 August 2025 last time — and an age of 21 to 30 years on that date with the usual relaxations. Specialist streams need the stream degree. The fee was ₹850 including GST, or ₹100 for SC, ST and PwBD.
What is the NIACL AO salary?
The 2025 advertisement quoted Scale I basic pay of ₹50,925 in the scale ₹50,925–2,500(14)–85,925–2,710(4)–96,765 with about ₹90,000 a month gross in a metropolitan centre, plus NPS, gratuity, LTS and medical benefits. The general-insurance wage revision since then shows in United India’s September 2026 notice, which quotes a Scale I basic of ₹82,485 and about ₹1.10 lakh a month; the next NIACL notice will carry the revised figures.
Is there negative marking in NIACL AO?
Yes — one fourth of the marks assigned to the question for each wrong answer in both Phase I and Phase II objective tests. Unanswered questions carry no penalty. The descriptive test is marked separately and must be passed with 15 of 30 (13.5 for SC, ST and PwBD).
