NIACL AO — Reading previous papers properly

The company publishes information handouts, not question papers, but the 2021, 2023 and 2025 papers are reconstructed reliably from candidate recall. The pattern has been constant, and the general-awareness section repeats its insurance themes.

What recent papers of NIACL AO have actually asked, by section.
SectionWhat recursHow to use it
Phase I English (30)One RC, cloze, error spotting, fillers, para-jumblesTwenty-plus accurate attempts is enough; do not gamble here
Phase I reasoning (35)Two puzzle sets, syllogism, inequality, coding, seriesPuzzle sets decide the section; skip a set that will not resolve
Phase I quantitative (35)Simplification or approximation, series, one DI, arithmeticAccuracy over attempts under the penalty
Phase II reasoning (50)Three or four puzzles, input-output, logical reasoning, data sufficiencyForty minutes; leave the hardest puzzle
Phase II English (50)Two RCs, cloze, error, sentence rearrangement, vocabularyThe section most candidates under-prepare
Phase II general awareness (50)Insurance products and terms, IRDAI, PSU insurers, budget, RBI, current affairsThirty minutes; a notes file on insurance covers half
Phase II quantitative (50)Two or three DI sets, arithmetic, quadratic equations, seriesChoose DI sets by data type
Descriptive (30)Letter 10 and essay 20Pass at 15; structure, grammar and word count are marked

How to work a past paper of NIACL AO

  1. Score with the penalty a quarter mark per wrong answer, then compare attempts, accuracy and score across papers.
  2. Sit sections with their timers Phase I at 20 minutes each; Phase II at 40, 40, 30 and 40.
  3. List general-awareness questions by theme insurance, financial sector, current affairs, static — and see which theme you lose.
  4. Type the descriptive answers and check them against the 15-mark pass.

Where the papers come from

  • Memory-based papers — from the 14 September and 29 October 2025 sessions, and the 2023 and 2021 papers, via coaching institutes and candidate forums.
  • IBPS PO and SBI PO papers — for the same syllabus at the same level.
