The UIIC AO 2026 syllabus is the bank-PO syllabus with a 60-mark financial-sector awareness section, a computer test and a typed letter and essay; Hindi Officers add a 100-mark language paper.

Syllabus

UIIC AO — What the syllabus covers

The notification names the sections and their marks; the 2023 and 2024 UIIC papers and the NIACL papers of the same pattern show what fills them. The lists below are drawn from those.

English Language (Tier I 30, Tier II 50)

  • Reading comprehension — one or two passages on economy, insurance or social themes.
  • Cloze, fillers, error spotting, sentence improvement, para-jumbles, vocabulary — grammar and usage in context.

Reasoning (Tier I 35, Tier II 60)

  • Puzzles and seating arrangement — linear, circular, floor, box, scheduling.
  • Syllogism, inequality, coding-decoding, series — quick marks.
  • Blood relations, direction, ranking, input-output, data sufficiency, logical reasoning — Tier II adds the longer forms.

Quantitative Aptitude (Tier I 35, Tier II 60)

  • Simplification, approximation, series, quadratic equations — speed questions.
  • Arithmetic — percentages, ratio, averages, profit and loss, interest, time and work, speed, mixtures, mensuration.
  • Data interpretation — tables, charts, caselets; two-variable and missing-data sets in Tier II.

General Awareness with special reference to the financial sector (Tier II 60)

  • Insurance — IRDAI and its regulations, general-insurance products and terms, the PSU insurers and GIC Re, insurance schemes and recent insurance news.
  • Financial sector — RBI and monetary policy, banking terms, SEBI, PFRDA, budget and economic survey figures, financial inclusion.
  • Current affairs and static GK — six months of events; polity, geography, awards, sports, important days.

Computer Knowledge (Tier II 20 for Generalists, 25 for Hindi Officers)

  • Fundamentals, MS Office, internet and e-mail, networking basics, security, abbreviations — the standard bank computer syllabus.

Professional Knowledge — Hindi Officers (Tier II 100)

  • Hindi and English grammar and vocabulary — at post-graduate level.
  • Official Language Act and rules — the Official Languages Act 1963, the 1976 rules, the Rajbhasha implementation framework.
  • Translation — English to Hindi and Hindi to English passages.

Descriptive test (Generalists 30: letter 10, essay 20; Hindi Officers 50)

  • Formal letter and essay — typed; topics from insurance, economy and society for Generalists; language and translation-based writing for Hindi Officers.
