UPPSC PCS — How the paper is structured

The rules that decide the result.
Rule	Detail
Prelims merit on Paper I	Paper II qualifying at 33 per cent; one-third off per wrong answer; blanks free.
Fifteen and three	About fifteen per post to the mains; three to the interview.
Minimum efficiency standard	40 per cent, or 35 for SC and ST, at each stage.
Mains 1,500	Eight conventional papers; no optional; Hindi, English or Urdu.
Interview 100	Merit on 1,600.
