Andhra Pradesh Police Exam Pattern

Three tests, but only the last one — or the last two, for armed posts — counts. Knowing which is which decides where a year of preparation goes.

Andhra Pradesh Police — How the paper is structured

The consequence of that table is a planning rule. For Civil posts the physical test is a bar to clear and the final written paper is the whole result; for armed posts the track is worth a third to a half of the total and is the cheapest place to gain marks, because a minute off a run time is worth more than the equivalent effort in general studies.

Rules that decide candidacies

  • Qualifying marks apply per paper, not in aggregate — a Sub-Inspector candidate who clears the preliminary general studies paper comfortably and misses the arithmetic paper by a mark is out.
  • Language-paper failure voids the objective papers — the board does not evaluate Papers III and IV for a candidate who has failed Paper I or II. There is no compensation from a strong objective score.
  • Physical measurement is not re-tested — a candidate measured below the standard on the day is out, and the notifications say a request for re-measurement will not be entertained.
  • Marks are awarded for one bubble only — a question with two bubbles darkened scores as no answer — zero, not a deduction, since there is no negative marking.

Confirm the structure against your own notification

APPSC revises paper structure, marks, syllabus detail and eligibility between recruitment cycles, and has done so more than once in recent years. Everything here describes the shape the recruitment has held; the notification for the cycle you are sitting is the document that decides it. Read it end to end before you plan around any figure.
