APPSC Group 2 — Reading previous papers properly

The old question papers page holds one Group 2 paper — the screening test of 2016 — and no mains paper of any year. The 2023 screening paper and both 2023 mains papers, in all four series, are published on the keys page as final keys in question-paper format: the questions with the correct options marked. Together they show the current scheme’s papers in full, which is more than the archive alone suggests.

How to use what exists

  • Work the 2023 mains papers with the marks covered — both papers, to time, with the penalty applied, then check against the key. It is the only official mains practice for the current scheme.
  • Classify every Section A question by period — ancient, medieval, colonial, the movement, the reorganisation. The distribution tells you where the commission puts the state history marks.
  • Use the 2016 screening paper for the screening — the syllabus has since been revised, but the question habits and the level have not.
  • Keep one file of Andhra Pradesh questions across every paper — from the Group 1 mains and the Group 3 screening paper as well. The state is asked in every APPSC paper.
