Two things to rehearse: the balance between the state and the rest, and the decision to leave a question blank.

APPSC Group 2 — Using mock tests as a measurement

A routine built around the scheme

  1. A full two-paper mock every week 300 questions in 300 minutes, scored with a third of a mark off per wrong answer. Both papers, because both count.
  2. A state history sectional midweek Fifty questions in fifty minutes on the social and cultural history of Andhra Pradesh. Seventy-five marks of the mains, and the block that most separates candidates.
  3. A screening-format paper monthly 150 questions in 150 minutes with the mental ability block included — the stage you sit first, in its own balance.
  4. A practical session weekly A formatted document against the clock, a spreadsheet with formulas, a short presentation. The proficiency test is a mock too.

Build the state history mocks yourself if none exist

Commercial mock series rarely give the social and cultural history of Andhra Pradesh the 75 marks the paper gives it. The syllabus headings and the 2023 Paper I key are enough to write question sets from — fifty on the dynasties, fifty on the movements, fifty on the road to the residuary state. A set you wrote from the state’s own history is closer to the paper than a generic Indian history quiz.
