Andhra Pradesh Departmental Tests Mock Tests

A mock for a with-books paper is a mock with the bare Act on the desk and nothing else. Anything more generous is not a rehearsal.

Andhra Pradesh Departmental Tests — Using mock tests as a measurement

A routine by paper type

  1. Objective papers — two-hour sittings, weekly A hundred questions drawn from your own chapter question bank, answered on screen or on paper against the clock. No negative marking, so answer every one and review the wrong ones against the text.
  2. With-books papers — the Act and a stopwatch The same sitting with only the bare Act permitted. The measure is not the score but how many questions you reached; if you ran out of time, the fix is navigation, not knowledge.
  3. Conventional papers — write by hand, to length Three-hour sittings for the language and survey papers, on paper, in pen. Legibility and speed at the end of the third hour are part of the standard.
  4. The pass mark as the target Score each mock against the rule for your paper — 40 in the paper, or 45 per cent in aggregate, or a pair taken together — rather than against a percentage.

Practise the combined papers together

Where the qualifying rule assesses two papers together, or requires all papers of a test at one sitting, a mock of one paper alone measures the wrong thing. Sit the pair, or the set, in one session as the examination will require.
