Andhra Pradesh Teaching Posts — How to prepare

A plan across two cycles

  1. Now — the regular TET If you hold a pass, decide whether the score is strong enough to carry twenty marks; if not, re-sit the next regular cycle. If you hold none, the next regular cycle is the first task. Not the special in-service cycle.
  2. Months one to three — content The subject at graduation standard for School Assistant, the five primary subjects for SGT, from the state textbooks and the published syllabus. Half the paper.
  3. Months four to six — methodology, perspectives and psychology From the state’s own syllabus documents, not a general education text. The Right to Education, the state’s education policy, the classroom implications of learning theory.
  4. The notification window — documents and papers Certificates ready before the notification; a full paper a week from the day it appears; the merit-list target for your district in view.

What the 2025 cycle taught

  • The DSC replaced a cancelled one — DSC 2024 was cancelled by government order in February 2024 and the Mega DSC 2025 re-notified the posts. Candidates who had paid did not pay again — but they did have to apply again.
  • Sixteen thousand posts across two notifications — with the societies posts — model schools, the residential institutions of the welfare departments — examined under a different scheme from the department’s own schools. Read both notifications before choosing which posts to apply for.
  • Merit lists came six weeks after the examination — and certificate verification four days after the lists. The interval between the result and verification is short; the certificates have to be ready before the result.
  • The fee is per post — ₹750 for each post category applied for. Applying widely costs accordingly.

Confirm the structure against your own notification

APPSC revises paper structure, marks, syllabus detail and eligibility between recruitment cycles, and has done so more than once in recent years. Everything here describes the shape the recruitment has held; the notification for the cycle you are sitting is the document that decides it. Read it end to end before you plan around any figure.
