Karnataka Departmental Examinations — How to prepare

From the schedule to the certificate

  1. Read Schedule II for your cadre The 1974 rules name the examinations each department’s posts must pass. The notification says to apply for those and no others.
  2. Check the Kannada position If you passed SSLC with Kannada, or hold a listed certificate, claim the exemption — and still apply and pay for the Kannada code as the notification requires.
  3. Register on Seva Sindhu and apply in the window About a month, in Kannada, with a head-of-office certificate for the SAS papers. The 2026 window was extended twice; do not count on it.
  4. Aim at sixty in the paper you know best It buys two years for the rest of that examination at thirty-five.
  5. Download the certificate Through Seva Sindhu and DigiLocker, with the register number and PAN. No marks statement is posted; the marks are on the result.

Confirm the structure against your own notification

KPSC and the state’s other recruiting bodies revise paper structure, marks, syllabus detail and eligibility between recruitment cycles, and have done so more than once in recent years. Everything here describes the shape the recruitment has held; the notification for the cycle you are sitting is the document that decides it. Read it end to end before you plan around any figure.
