Karnataka Departmental Examinations — Reading previous papers properly

The commission’s question-paper page holds the departmental Kannada language Paper 1 and the Paper 2 set for all-India officers — a 2021 first-session booklet of fifty-five questions in two hours for 100 marks. No other departmental paper was found on the site. For the accounts, revenue, law and departmental papers, the syllabus names the code or Act, and the questions are drawn from it.

How to practise without papers

  • Work the code as a question bank — chapter by chapter, writing the questions an examiner would ask and answering from the text under time.
  • For with-books papers, practise finding — the government textbook on the desk, a stopwatch, and a provision to locate. The skill is navigation.
  • For the Kannada papers, use the published booklets — they show the level — the school readers — and the question types, and the viva follows the same syllabus.
