TNPSC Group 2 — How to prepare

A plan to the 2026 cycle

Now to 1 November — the prelims The language paper at its hundred-question weight; the Tamil Nadu units at their forty; polity; aptitude drilled. A descriptive answer a day alongside, because the mains is coming.
November to the mains — Paper II Weekly full descriptive papers to the published format; the Tamil eligibility paper monthly; the state layer built into every answer.
After the mains — documents Verification is at three per vacancy and counselling at one and a half for reserved communities. Certificates in the notification’s form, ready.

What the 2025 cycle taught

The mains came five months after the prelims — September to February. That interval is when descriptive practice pays.
Counselling came a year after the notification — July 2025 to September 2026, and it was still running when this page was checked.
Addenda change the vacancy list — the 2025 cycle had five; the 2026 cycle one already.

Confirm the structure against your own notification

TNPSC revises paper structure, marks, syllabus detail and eligibility between recruitment cycles, and has done so more than once in recent years — the Tamil eligibility component itself is a recent addition.
