Telangana Technical Posts Mock Tests

The two papers need different testing. One is a speed test on material you already know; the other is a breadth test on material you are still learning.

Telangana Technical Posts — Using mock tests as a measurement

For the core paper, sectional tests by subject are more useful than full papers early on, because they localise the weakness to a subject you can then revise. For general studies, full-length papers are better from the start, since the difficulty there is sustaining attention across unrelated topics rather than depth in any one.

A testing plan across both papers

  1. Subject-wise core tests, twice a week One subject at a time, thirty questions, timed. Rotate through the discipline until every subject has been tested twice.
  2. A general studies full paper, weekly Including the Telangana section, which is the part that improves fastest.
  3. A combined full simulation, fortnightly Both papers on one day in the notified order, to find where fatigue actually starts.
  4. A formula-sheet recall test, weekly Cover the sheet and rewrite it. Ten minutes, and it exposes decay before a mock does.

Test the rusty subjects first, not the strong ones

A working engineer’s score is usually held down by the two or three subjects they have not touched since graduation, and those are precisely the ones it is uncomfortable to test. Sit them first and sit them early: an honest low score in month one is a study plan, while the same score discovered in the final fortnight is a problem with no time left in it.

Diagnosing a two-paper technical mock.
What you seeWhat it usually isWhat to change
Core paper slow but accurateFormulas being reconstructed rather than recalled.Write the formula sheet from memory daily until it is automatic. Understanding is not the bottleneck.
Core paper fast but inaccurateUnit slips and sign errors rather than concept gaps.Redo the wrong questions writing units at every line. The error rate falls quickly.
General studies weak, core strongThe common shape for an engineering graduate.Daily current affairs and a fixed month on the state layer. Stop revising core subjects you already score on.
Both papers fine separately, poor togetherStamina and switching cost.Sit both papers back to back at the real timing, weekly.
Marks concentrated in two or three chaptersCoverage is narrower than the paper.Work down the weight table rather than deepening chapters you are already strong in.

A useful drill specific to technical papers: take twenty questions from your weakest chapter and answer them with the formula sheet in front of you, then re-sit the same twenty a week later without it. The gap between the two scores is a clean measurement of what you have actually memorised, separated from what you understand — and in an objective paper under time, memorised is the half that pays.
