Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Secretary — Reading previous papers properly

The commission’s archive holds the 2016 Panchayat Secretary screening test and nothing else for this post. But the 2018 recruitment’s district ranking lists were published in February 2020 with each candidate’s Paper 1, Paper 2 and total marks, district by district. Read together, they show what the examination asked and what mark selected in each district — which is the pair of facts a candidate most needs.

How to use what exists

  • Work the 2016 screening paper to time, with the penalty — it is the only official evidence of how the rural development questions are phrased.
  • Read your district’s 2020 ranking list — find the mark at the last selected rank for your category. That, with a margin, is the target — and it differs by district, because appointment does.
  • Note the spread between Paper 1 and Paper 2 — in the lists, general studies marks cluster and rural development marks spread. The paper about the job is where candidates separated.
