Tamil Nadu Police — Reading previous papers properly

The board’s archive holds the Sub-Inspector papers for 2019, 2022 and 2023 — Tamil test, open and departmental booklets — and the Constable papers for 2019, 2020 and 2022, each with its key. For the 2025 cycles it has posted the preliminary and final keys but not yet the booklets. The 2023 Sub-Inspector booklet is the closest to the current scheme, and its instruction page is also where the board states in terms that a wrong answer earns no marks.

How to work the archive

Sit the Tamil test booklets first — they show the level — tenth standard — and the question types, which do not change. The gate is the easiest part of the archive to prepare from.
Work the main papers to the half-mark — for Sub-Inspector, 140 questions in 150 minutes at half a mark each. The pace is what the archive teaches.
Classify Part B by skill — logical, numerical, psychology, communication, information handling. The distribution across the archived papers tells you where the sixty questions fall.
Use the 2025 keys with a reconstructed booklet — the keys are official; a reconstructed paper checked against them is a fair practice set for the current scheme.
