TGPSC Group 2 Mock Tests

With no interview and no descriptive stage, a mock is not preparation for the exam — it is the closest thing to the exam you can arrange.

TGPSC Group 2 — Using mock tests as a measurement

The useful mock is the one that copies the constraint you will actually face: the full paper, the full time, in one sitting, with no pausing and no checking a fact halfway through. Sectional practice builds knowledge; only the full paper measures whether you can hold accuracy for its whole length.

A mock routine for the last three months

  1. One full-length mock a week, same day and time Consistency turns the mock into a measurement rather than an event. Sit it at the hour the real paper is scheduled for if you can.
  2. Analyse for two hours for every hour written Every wrong answer classified as recall, misreading or gap. The classification tells you whether to revise, slow down or study.
  3. Track your weakest paper, not your total The total will improve on its own if the weakest paper does. Watching the total hides the paper that is holding it down.
  4. Sit the movement paper separately, often It is finite, learnable and heavily weighted. Repeated testing on it converts directly into marks.

A mock score is a floor, not a forecast

Read your worst score of the last five mocks rather than your average. The examination will be sat once, possibly on a bad day, and the floor is the honest estimate of what a bad day produces.

A Group 2 mock review sheet — one row per paper, filled in on the same day.
What to recordWhy it is on the sheet
Attempted, correct, wrong, blankThe four numbers that decide whether your problem is knowledge, speed or judgement.
Accuracy on attempted questionsThe single number most predictive of a real score wherever wrong answers are penalised.
Questions answered in the last ten minutesThese were taken under pressure. Their accuracy is usually far lower, and that is a pacing problem rather than a knowledge one.
Telangana questions rightTracked separately, because this is the block that distinguishes candidates and the one national material misses.
Topics of the five worst missesWritten as narrow tags and carried straight into next week’s study list.

Sit mocks at the time of day the examination is actually held. That sounds like superstition and is not: attention, reading speed and arithmetic accuracy are all worse at hours you have never practised in, and a candidate who has only ever taken mocks late at night has no measurement of how they perform in a morning paper.
