APPSC Group 4 — Reading previous papers properly

The commission publishes question papers for some recruitments — several Group 1 mains cycles, a 2016 Group 2 screening test, a 2016 Panchayat Secretary screening test and various technical posts — but not for Group 4 in any cycle. What it does publish for Group 4 is the final answer key after each examination, which pairs with a reconstructed paper but is not one.

How to practise without the paper

  • Work the 2016 Group 2 screening and Panchayat Secretary screening papers for Paper I — both are general studies and mental ability at degree standard, set by this commission under the same negative-marking rule. The question habits carry across.
  • Work the Group 1 prelims papers at a discount — the same subject headings at a harder standard. Note which questions felt beyond Group 4 rather than discarding them.
  • Use any SSC-standard English and Telugu question bank for Paper II — the paper is school-standard grammar and comprehension, and the source matters less than the volume.
  • Keep one file of Andhra Pradesh questions across every paper you work — state geography, history, economy, schemes and the bifurcation are asked in every APPSC paper. Collected into one file, they become the most exam-specific revision document available.
