The line in Paper I that most distinguishes this paper from a national general-studies syllabus is the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and its implications. It is a named topic, it has appeared in every APPSC general studies syllabus since 2016, and it is examined as a subject with facts — the reorganisation act, the division of assets and institutions, the capital question, the residuary state’s districts — rather than as a theme.
