APPSC Group 4 — Study material for this exam

A reading list by paper. The Andhra Pradesh layer is the only part with no national source.
PaperStandardWhat to work from
General studiesDegreeThe standard degree-level general studies texts for history, polity, geography, economy and science, plus a current affairs digest kept weekly.
Andhra Pradesh layerDegreeThe state’s history, geography, economy and administration, and the Reorganisation Act and its implications. Build from the state government’s publications and the commission’s syllabus headings.
Mental abilityNot statedA verbal and non-verbal reasoning question bank, plus a data interpretation drill. Volume matters more than source.
General EnglishSSCA school-level grammar and composition reference, and a daily comprehension passage. The class IX and X English textbooks are the right pitch.
General TeluguSSCThe class IX and X Telugu textbooks for grammar — sandhi, samasa, vibhakti — and a Telugu newspaper for comprehension and current vocabulary.
Computer proficiencyPracticalA word processor, a spreadsheet and a presentation tool, used daily. A typing tutor for speed. No book substitutes for the keyboard.

Assemble the bifurcation as a fact sheet

The reorganisation of the state is a named syllabus topic, and it is examined as facts: the Act and its date, the division of institutions and assets, the special provisions, the capital question and its sequence, the residuary state’s districts before and after the 2022 reorganisation. One fact sheet, built once and revised monthly, covers a topic that recurs in every APPSC general studies paper.
