Andhra Pradesh Technical Posts — Using mock tests as a measurement

A routine built around the scheme

  1. A full paper set every week Paper I and the subject paper or papers, back to back, scored with a third of a mark off per wrong answer — two-thirds where the question carries two marks.
  2. A subject sectional midweek Fifty questions from one unit of the discipline in fifty minutes, at the standard of the post. This is where the marks are and where drilled practice moves them fastest.
  3. A general studies paper fortnightly The commission’s Paper I format with the state layer, shared with every other APPSC recruitment you might sit.
  4. For forest posts, the qualifying paper and the walk English and Telugu at SSC standard to the qualifying mark, and a timed walk to the notified distance. Neither carries marks; both remove candidates.

Score the subject paper against the last cycle’s selected marks

The commission publishes the marks of selected candidates after each selection. Find the last selected mark for your post and category, subtract a realistic general studies score, and the remainder is the subject-paper target. It is a harder standard than a percentage and the only one that predicts anything.
