- Paper I — General Studies and Mental Ability
- Events of national and international importance; current affairs; general science and its applications; Indian history and the national movement; Indian geography and the geography of Andhra Pradesh; the Constitution, polity and governance; the Indian economy and the economy of Andhra Pradesh; the bifurcation of the state and its implications; logical reasoning, analytical ability and data interpretation. At degree standard for most posts and SSC standard for the draughtsman post.
- AEE Paper II — civil and mechanical engineering, common
- The shared foundation of the two disciplines at bachelor’s standard: engineering mechanics, strength of materials, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, materials and manufacturing basics, surveying and engineering drawing. Set as one paper for both civil and mechanical candidates.
- AEE Paper III — the discipline
- For civil: structural analysis and design, geotechnical engineering, hydrology and irrigation, water supply and sanitation, transportation and construction management. For mechanical or electrical, the equivalent core of the discipline. At bachelor’s standard, from the annexure of the notification.
- AE Paper II — civil or mechanical, at diploma standard
- The same disciplines pitched at the diploma level the post requires — the material of the state technical board’s courses rather than of a degree.
- Forest papers
- For Range and Section Officers, mathematics at SSC standard and general forestry — silviculture, forest mensuration, forest protection, wildlife, forest law and policy — in one paper for Section Officers and two for Range Officers. For Beat Officers and Thanedars, general science and general mathematics at SSC standard.
- Lecturer subject papers
- The subject at post-graduate standard, for 300 marks — the branch of engineering for polytechnic engineering posts, the discipline for non-engineering and degree-college posts. The syllabus is the annexure of the notification and follows the university curriculum of the subject.
There is no separate syllabus document for the technical posts; the scheme and syllabus are the annexure inside each notification PDF, reachable from the notifications list. The commission’s syllabus page carries the Group services and a few standing schemes, not the technical posts.
