Andhra Pradesh Technical Posts — Reading previous papers properly

The old question papers page holds the 2011 Assistant Engineer common paper in civil and mechanical engineering, the 2016 AEE screening tests in civil, mechanical and agricultural engineering, degree-college and junior-lecturer papers by subject from 2008 and 2011, the technical assistant papers in hydrology and hydrogeology, the assistant hydrologist and hydrogeologist papers from 2012, the architectural draughtsman paper and a general studies paper from 2008. Papers from the 2024 and 2025 cycles are not there; for those the commission publishes final keys.

How to use the archive

Work the AEE screening tests for level — they show the standard at which the commission sets an engineering paper — and the standard has not moved, even where the scheme has.
Use the AE common paper for the diploma-level post — it is the same common civil and mechanical paper, at the diploma standard the post asks for.
Lecturer candidates: work the subject paper for your discipline — the 2008 and 2011 lecturer papers are set at the post-graduate standard the current scheme keeps.
Apply the penalty — the archived papers predate or postdate the one-third rule; score them under it regardless, because that is the rule you will sit under.

Pair recent keys with reconstructed papers

For the 2024 and 2025 cycles the commission publishes the final answer key but not the paper. A reconstructed paper from those cycles, checked against the official key, is a reasonable practice set — but it is a reconstruction, and the archived papers are the only ones that are the commission’s own.
